Could I get some suggestions from you JB'in pros please!

Hi all, I read and read but I am still a little confused so I'm asking for some suggestions from the pro's.

I have 2 3gs's, one is jailbroken one is not. Could you please tell me what you would do to these phones to have them both jailbroken.

The first one is jailbroken with spirit, 16 gig 3GS, version 3.1.2, model MC135LL and firmware 05.11.07. SHSH IOS 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.01, 4.02, 4.1 and 4.2.1+ blobs stored on cydia.

It runs great but I am starting to run into a few apps which require a higher OS than 3.1.2. Would you update to newer version OS, which one and what JB method would you use? Or would you just stay at 3.1.2?


The second is a 16 gig 3GS, not jailbroken and never has been, version 3.1, model MB716LL with firmware 05.11.07. No SHSH stored.

I have finally convinced my GF to free her phone, so I'd like to get it done for her. How would you go about jailbreaking this one?

I am pretty good with the computer but not so experienced with jailbreaking. I read a lot and understand a good bit but I am still confused. Any suggestions and/or step by step instructions or links will be greatly appreciated, Thank you!!

Also, I'm not concerned with unlocking, I don't need to, AT&T here. Thanks!

Update itunes to the latest . Make sure you sync your stuffs with itunes first.
You can hit restore in itunes to take you to 4.2.1
Jailbreak it with GP from GreenPois0n at 4.2.1.
It will be untethered jailbreak.
