iPhone 3G Jailbreak super slow

I jailbroke my iPhone 3G with 4.1.2. and its really very slow now. So my question is, what's the best thing I should do to have a reasonably normal speed iPhone with the jailbreak? Should I downgrade and jailbreak at a lower firmware? Is there something I can do to make the 4.1.2. jailbreak run faster? Please help

4 options...

1. Deal with it.

2. Get a newer device because the iPhone 3G is being stopped on ios 4.2.1.

3. DO NOT enable native wallpapers or multitasking.

4. downgrade back to ios 3.1.3 and jailbreak with redsn0w.

You should not really run anything themeing apps or any form of multitasking. Other then that it is going to be slow.
