For 3g, anything higher than 4.0 is slow and lag.
Restore to 3.1.3 is your best option. You do not need shsh blob.

You can restore to a stock 3.1.3 then jailbreak with jailbreakme or spirit or redsn0w 0.9.4 (the first two require a SIM to activate). For redsn0w point to the 3.1.2 ipsw to work, though you can restore to 3.1.3 you just have to use 3.1.2 for the redsn0w part.

No, you would restore to stock 3.1.3. Then you would run redsn0w on it. You need a stock 3.1.3 ipsw to use redsn0w. You're not using 3.1.2 for anything except to get redsn0w to work.

I'm a girl.
It won't change your baseband as you can't downgrade basebands. You would still be able to unlock bc you're not upgrading.

Were you not paying attention? You don't need one.
If you're so persistent on getting one, Google is where you'd find one. We don't distribute or link to custom firmwares on MMi.
