Unlock 3g 3.1.2 / 5.11.07 input please

I have a unit as above original. I want to change providers. I want to unlock. Does my wifi system have to be functional? (It is intermittent) Do I have to have Itunes installed, and if yes which version would be best? I was going to use Blackra1n RC3, to unlock unless there is a better software to unlock.

well blackra1n isnt an unlock
first jailbreak your iphone using blackra1n then install cydia. (so yes ull need wifi)

then u can use blackssn0w to unlock but i think ultrasn0w will work as well
