jail broken really slow booting

hi i have a 3gs on fw 4.1 new bootrom, the phone was working fine, after installing software, the phone suddently takes for ever to boot, (3-4 min) and seems jammed in the white apple, is there a way to find wich software or what would have to be corrected to make it work correctly again or is it just possible to reinstall limerain and not loose the software i have installed?

What did you install? You might as well just update to 4.2.1 and JB with greenpois0n.

dont know my brother intalled some stuff.. i was out of the country... is 4.2.1 untethered with green poison? will i have to back up my cydi a software? is 4.2.1 better that 4.1? other wise ill just reinstall 4.1

update to 4.2.1. it's better. Yeah, since your bro was screwing with it, it would be best to restore to 4.2.1 as new, and then manually reinstall what you want from cydia.
