Hey, i want to know if GreenPoison Jailbreak for 4.2.1 can activate the phone aswell? i am little confused right now.. i have an iphone 4 iOS 4.1 jailbreaked and activated but not unlocked as there's no unlock for bb 2.10.04... anyway if i preserve the baseband and upgrade to 4.2.1, i don't need to activate it again right? GreenPoison Activates the phone automatically? i read on few forums that you need some SAM Card to activate the phone..
Just run redsn0w 0.9.6rc8 on it first to jb and activate, then run greenpois0n after just to make it untethered. No need to use GP's loader to install Cydia again since you already did with Redsn0w.
i have another question... suppose if i am already on 4.2.1 with baseband preserved 2.10.04.. now if i cook a custom firmware with redsn0w, i will lose my current bb as my would be updated.. is there any way i can preserve the baseband and hactivate it using redSn0w or anyother.. what about SnowBreeze? for greenpoison you don't need to cook a custom firmware.. it automatically jailbreaks your iphone not affecting your baseband.. now i'm stuck i need the solution because i can't afford to loose my baseband.
Your baseband is 2.10.xx, what reason do you have to preserve it? It isn't unlockable either.
If it's already on 4.2.1, if you for some reason don't want the 3.10.xx baseband, simply run TinyUmbrella's TSS server while restoring to stock 4.2.1 will preserve the baseband.
That's the simplest route. I don't see a need for custom firmwares.
It asks you for your firmware version so it knows which to jailbreak.
The unlock will likely cover the newest baseband.
Like I said, run greenpois0n after using redsn0w. It will make it UNtethered. Only run a jailbreak over another jailbreak in this circumstance. Usually it will not turn out right but in this instance, it is fine.
