Greenpois0n Jailbreak for iTouch 4G 4.2.1
Hey guys, I'm completely confused about what's going on with Greenpois0n, and wondering if anyone knows any solutions.
A couple of weeks ago I jailbroke my iPod Touch 4G with firmware 4.2.1 to the RC5. I had no issues at all concerning the actual jailbreak, however the website was acting funny. When I went to the website and I clicked on the windows icon internet explorer told me "This website cannot be displayed blah blah blah". I had a friend send me the RC5 jailbreak file over an e-mail and everything was smooth sailing from there.
Now I want to upgrade to RC6 because some apps from Cydia don't work unless under RC5. For the past couple of days, the greenpois0n website won't load at all, I tried both computers in my house, with both IE and Firefox, all times the website won't load.
Once again, I had the friend E-Mail me the new file, but now after DFU mode, the jailbreak just stays at 0%, and after a few minutes it tells me the "Jailbreak fails
" I've tried somewhere between 7-9 times the last couple of days to no avail.
It's as if my computer and greenpois0n just can't communicate with one another, I've also tried turning off my virus protection and trying, but the same things happens.
I know this is a little long, but I wanna get in as much detail as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Are you jailbreaking over top an old one? BAD IDEA! Restore and jailbreak with the latest.

Really? You're correct, I still have the RC5 jailbreak on my iPod, however I've seen many youtube videos that say you can easily put the new jailbreak over the older one, and it will keep your current apps, music, and jailbreak stuff. In one video a guy was using a GBA Emulator which didn't work, applied the new jailbreak RC6, and then it worked.

95% of the people on youtube have no clue what they are doing. It's a bad idea to follow a 12 year old's instructions. Jailbreaks can be pretty touchy, so it is always best to restore as new (not from backup, when it asks) and rejailbreak.
Here is a guide on how to keep the data from your apps from the app store (p.s. you can trust this video
): How to restore as "new", and keep your appstore app data/saved games

I restored and tried again (I still can't get the greenpois0n website to load) but the jailbreak worked like a charm.
Note to self: Don't listen to YouTube when it comes to jailbreaking!
Thanks for the help, hopefully I won't have any more problems, but if I do these fourms were very helpful!

Lol never listen to YouTube. Seen way too many threads where people tried something off YouTube and ended up here.
