Messed up 3G jailbreak, a Russian Steve?
Howdy All,
bit of a problem here.
Tried to Jailbreak a 3G to a custom IPSW on 4.2.1 using Pwnage Tool and updating the baseband to 6.15.00 so as to facilitate an unlock.
Unfortunately, the custom IPSW i created hacktivated that phone and thus there was no signal bars and no Wifi connectivity. So i created a new IPSW without the activate phone option ticked.
So I went to restore the phone to the new IPSW and it goes to through the whole process of restoring and then at the very end i get an error in itunes and Russian Steve Jobs appears on the phone.
I made the same mistake jailbreaking an iphone 4 awhile ago and the second jailbreak worked fine in that instance.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Cheers...

bricking is actually a bit harder then it sounds.
ireb\redsn0w give you errors? you can put your device in pwned DFU?

Yeah DFU mode doesn seem to be a problem. Either with Pwnage, Redsn0w or iReb.
Each time they all confirm that i am in DFU mode, (iReb gives me the green screen, which is terrifying but supposedly normal.)
Ive tried two separate custom firmwares one which hactivates and one that doesnt neither of them are working,
And that Russina Steve is just laughing at me!

alright alright.
make sure you use redsn0w this time to get you into pwned DFU mode.
make a new custom FW with PT, NO logos or anything special. try again and maybe that'll help.
otherwise idk, im not too into the whole iphone-baseband-thing.

Update:
Tried to boot tethered using the latest Redsn0w but just stalled on boot ( did not jump into recovery) Rebooted and let redsn0w have another go, its doing its thing now "Flashing NOR" etc.
TBH not holding out much hope for this.
Sorry just saw your post there, ill try that next if redsn0w isn succesfull this timeLast edited by Devostating; 02-19-2011 at 12:46 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Did that last custom firmware happen to not include the iPad baseband upgrade, because that's what you need to do when you have the 6.15.00 bb flashed. Once that happens, the only way to restore is to use a custom 4.2.1 that doesn't have the iPad baseband packaged in.
