Default JB 4.1 to 4.2 JB

    Hi all,

I am currently running iPhone 4, 4.1 (02.10.04) Jailbroken using Limera1n. I would like to upgrade to 4.2 but keep my Jailbreak and all Cydia apps and tweaks. I have read so much on this topic that I am now confused on what I can and can't do. Is what I want to do possible or do I have to re-install everything again. I do have PKGBackup and saved sshblobs on Cydia (what ever that means).

If someone can explain it in simple terms and let me know what to do i would be forever in your debt.

    Regards Rustynut

When you update you will lose all your cydia apps. But you can rejailbreak and use pkgbackup to reinstall them easily.

    Thanks x98car,

Do I JB using greenpoison or limera1n or doesn't it matter?

Let me get this straight, Backup first then update to 4.2. Once complete JB phone again using Lime or Green. Install Cydia and then pkgbackup. Then run pkgbackup and back up from stored file in pkgbackup. All my settings, apps and tweaks are re-installed. The only thing I have to do is select my settings in winterboard.
