Possible that SHSHs got deleted??
Hello everyone. I got an iPhone 4 from Apple that shipped with 4.1 - I immediately jailbroke it with limera1n and saved SHSHs with cydia. There is no doubt in my mind that when I jailbroke it I clicked the "Make my life easier" button since I've been doing this for a long time.
I recently upgraded to 4.2.1 with itunes since greenpois0n rc6 came out and jailbroke with that. Well it is completely bugged. I've tried clean installing and it still has far too many bugs for me. I want to downgrade back to 4.2.1
I changed my hosts file to saurik's server and tried the downgrade. I keep getting a "This iphone isn't eligible for the requested build. I am using the 4.1 ipsw for iphone 4. I downloaded tinyumbrella and clicked "save ipsw" and the lowest one it showed as saved was 4.2.1 - does that mean that somehow my SHShs for 4.1 got deleted from saurik's server?
Thanks

try a clean install and do NOT restore from backup.
when i used my backup, it was a horror show. clean install of 4.2.1 and setup as new worked wonders.60% of the time, it works every time.

I've never seen SHSHs get deleted after being cached from Saurik's server.
Now of course, that doesn't mean it cannot happen (or did not happen). But it's not likely.
What is also possible is the blobs did not get saved in time. When you click the "Make my life easier, thanks!" button in Cydia, you enter the queue for Cydia to save your blobs. If you were really close to the cutoff date (which if I remember correctly was Sunday, November 28th, 2010), you may have just missed the window when Cydia finally rolled around to getting your blobs.
EDIT: Reading fail on my part. If Cydia doesn't have them, and you didn't save them locally via TinyUmbrella, then you're not getting them. The cause at this point is rather irrelevant (though might be worth e-mailing Saurik and asking if he has records of your device's caching of blobs).Last edited by Orby; 02-16-2011 at 04:09 PM.
