After I jailbroke my 3GS with greenpois0n, i feel that my phone behaves slower. When I swipe to unlock the phone, it takes 3-4 seconds to show the home screen. Opening applications takes 3-4 seconds. Hitting the home button has the same delay. Within the apps, however, the phone seems to be responsive. Is my jailbreak to blame? Should I use a different method to jailbreak?

Before I upgraded to iOs 4.*, i had a jailbroken phone and I don't recall it being so slow.
