Trying to JB iPod 4.2.1 with greenpois0n

Hey all, I've been using my iPod touch 4th generation, jailbroken with tethered redsn0w 0.9.6rc8. I wanted to use greenpois0n for an untethered jailbreak, but it constantly fails, even when I have fresh 4.2.1 on it. Please help!

Are you holding the home button all the way through the codes?

Erm, what exactly do you mean? I follow through the entire DFU process perfectly, it gets to the part where I click the jailbreak button, but then it sits for a while, then the loading bar turns completely green really quickly and the button in the middle of the window says "Jailbreak failed. Restart to retry." That's what I get every time.

Oh you can't even get to the codes to load. Ok, well have you tried another computer?

No, I was about to. By the way, is it any kind of problem that I still have the redsn0w tethered jailbreak on the device?

It shouldn't be a problem. You usually can just run gp over the tethered jb. But, if you keep having issues with it you might want to restore to a clean slate then try again.

OK then. For now I'll leave it with redsn0w, the other computer is being persnickety with drivers, so I'll try something tomorrow.

OK, I just tried a different computer, and it worked perfectly fine. Must be a problem with my netbook.
