Cydia Crashing - Guidance Needed!
Hi All!
I know you'll probably get many of these 'noob questions' so I'll appologise now if this has been answered before!
Anyway, I'm new to jailbreaking - only managed to do it yesterday night - and today, after installing a few themes and cydgets, I have found that Cydia will no longer open and closes no sooner than I touch it. Now, being new to the whole process, I have not downloaded any of the 'SSH' programs required to gain access to the system files, more particularly:
/private/var/lib/apt/lists
I have, however, attempted to use the 'clearcydialistcache' method which was unsuccessful. It brings up the following error message:
Couldn’t initiate process: {0} unable to load DLL ‘iTunesMobileDevice.dll’: The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
I'd like to regain usage of Cydia without having to go through the recover-resync-rejailbreak method, so any pointers would be useful. If any further information is required to help situate my problem and find a fix, just ask and I'll happily provide what you need.
Thanks in advance,
-Joe

Personally I would just go with a restore, and rejailbreak from a clean slate.

While you can try using https://sites.google.com/a/iphone-de...edirects=0&d=1 and redsn0w to install that custom bundle to get SSH access, Cydia issues are often very hard to resolve and will most likely require a restore if the following shell commands (as root):
apt-get remove -f cydia
apt-get install -f cydia
reboot
isn't getting Cydia fixed.Last edited by Orby; 03-01-2011 at 05:15 PM.
