Want to upgrade but dont want to reinstall everything from cydia

I was thinking about updating from 4.0.1 to 4.2 or whatever is the newest but i dont want to lose everything i downloaded from cydia. is there any way to keep all that stuff? thanks

You can use pkgbackup to back it up and restore them easily after.

When you upgrade you're going to loose it all. But you can use PkgBackup (from Cydia) to create a backup of your apps. Follow the instructions to make sure you have created your backup properly. Then upgrade the firmware, jailbreak and reinstall PkgBackup. Then load your backup.

Sometimes this works perfectly, other times not at all. There's a couple other apps out there that work similarly.
