Error 37? Never even seen that before. When you're restoring, are you using your own downloaded stock firmware?
Yes, i used my downloaded software, it is just the wifi signal not showing on the status bar but all wifi can connect. When there is no wifi signal, 3g does show up.
It could be the combination of redsn0w first and gp second causes this.
I did the same method to my sister's iphone, same thing happened.

Try and set GP in compatibility mode cos you have a 64 bits machine. It is possible your machine is too fast for gp to handle.

yup i give up. calling apple tommo to setup an exchange, this is madness. 20 hours of fruitless labor really sucks.

thanks for all the help tho guys, seriously, you dont this kind of help from the droid community.

    thanks again!

when you go for exchange, the first thing they do is to restore to 4.2.1, hopefully u are with official carrier. When u jailbreak again with GP and get errors, I suggest u use a different pc with 32bits

i think somehow my phone managed to brick on me...dont worry, im official.

But if they can get 4.2.1 loaded and working and can restore to it more than once, great! if not, they'll give me a new phone etc (booo) and it'll be fine.

    thanks again!

    former issue:

    iPhone 4, 4.2.1+ hashed

    latest itunes

    W7 64 bit

As the title says, I've been trying to update to ios 4.2.1 on an iphone 4. Yup, simple enough. At first i tried to preserver the baseband, but after 4 hours of TU spitting out errors 37\1xxx and not being able to kick the device out (greenp0sion didn't work either), i moved to try and stock restore it.

I got rid of the gs.apple line in my hosts file and tried to restore again, error 1xxx and TU wouldn't kick. Tried again, error 37. tried again, error 37. tried again, error 1xxx. tried again, error 37.

What am i doing wrong..? I have been at this ALL day and i have no idea what to do anymore.

Alright now when trying to restore it gets stuck at the 'o' in 'restoring iphone software'...and now i wait.
