iphone 4 wont restore, connect to itunes

iphone 4 trying to go to ios 4.2.1. After every restore it says successful etc and then just goes to the connect to itunes screen.

After jailbreak it goes back to the connect to itunes screen.

uhm..help?

Youre just clicking restore and letting iTunes do everything, not shift + restoring? Any error codes by chance?

Well i was shift+restoring because i already have the FW downloaded elsewhere. and it worked once, got to activation screen. baseband was upgraded (idc) and i then tried to restore again to see if i still had a problem.

I did and got error 1013 lol....

so now im trying again from DFU.

Appearantly thats common with iPhone 4 updating to 4.2.1

I noticed you have a mac, try following this.

well i restore it and it gives error 1013. restore it again and it works. ehhh.... least it works, thanks!
