"Error 1013"
Background before explaining problem.
I have the iPhone 4 operating on 4.2.1 with the new Greenpois0n jailbreak.
I had the original iPhone 4 that operated on the 4.1 software that was jailbroke with Greenpois0n then I updated to the new 4.2.1 software and did the Redsn0w jailbreak. Just yesterday I used the Greenpois0n jailbreak on my iPhone 4 4.2.1 redsn0w phone. Everything was working fine except for Facetime.
I tried using the Facetime with the Facebreak and on WiFi and I was unable to use it so I decided to wipe my phone and restore it back to stock and try to jailbreak my phone from a fresh untampered 4.2.1 software.
When I wiped it, the phone locked up in the iTunes connect screen and I am stuck in the restore loop. It loads about 60-70% and then goes to the iTunes screen and pulls up either "error 1013 or 1014". I've tried using TinyUmbrella and start the TSS server and restore it from that point and then re-run the new greenpois0n but it still keeps going back to connect to iTunes and with the "error 1013".
Is there any way to fix this? I'm going to goto the Apple store and have them try to reboot it and if they can't they said a refurbished iPhone 4 will be given to me. Will they be able to see the jailbreak when they attempt the restore?

Do not use tiny umbrella when restoring to 4.2.1. If you are on official carrier then open tiny umbrella, click advanced, deselect the box that says set hosts to cydia on exit. then close tiny umbrella and try the restore again.

After deselecting set hosts to cydia, run the TSS server? then try to restore?

no, read my post again. Close tiny umbrella completely after. Do not use tiny umbrella during the restore.

I'm having the same loop. Tried this and it's not working. Still getting the 1013 error. I've tried just clicking Restore in iTunes as well as going into DFU mode and holding shift to select the 4.2.1 firmware (iphone 4).
K, nevermind. Tried it a few times and it finally worked. Thanks!Last edited by gldoorii; 02-12-2011 at 06:14 PM. Reason: Fixed

For a PC,
Go to : c:/Windows/system32/drivers/etc
Put .txt to host file.
After that put # at all Line except the one it begins with 127.0.0.1, save everything and close.
After that erase the .txt And try to restore again.
For Mac, i Will let someone else translate this.

Not sure exactly why this worked, but never the less, this solved the issue for me...same symptoms as initial post.
Thanks x98car!
