I can get my iPhone 3GS (4.2.1/05.15.04) into DFU mode but after pressing the Jailbreak button nothing happens for 10-15 seconds then it reports: Jailbreak Failed
I've tried it on two different machines (Win 7 64 bit and Vista 32) I've tried running it as XP compatible and as administrator on both. No luck.
I'm beginning to think it may have something to do with the web proxy and/or corporate firewall I'm behind but that's just a guess.
Are there any command line arguments that greenposi0n can be run with to give more detailed failure information?
Is there anything else you can think of that I could try?
Also I can't try from outside the proxy/firewall. I'm in Antarctica (hopefully only for another month).

Yup,i had the same problem with u when trying to jailbreak mine using my office LAN cable network.however,i was lucky that my office also have a wifi which uses different server from the cable and everything was fine after.maybe you should try using a different network.
Excellent! Thanks for the confirmation. I guess I'll just have to be a bit more patient. Unfortunately there's only one buttoned down corporate network here (see original post). I'll have to postpone the jailbreak until I return to Australia.

Sn0wbeeze to the rescue! Sort of. For some reason a lot of my apps were missing after restoring from backup. Syncing seems to be installing them again. I hope to hell I haven't lost all my data (I did perform a backup just before jailbreaking).
so you did managed to get urs done? yup, i had the same issue. but that was when i was playing to downgrade to 4.1 and later upgrade to 4.2.1, restore my backup and then jailbreak. all my installed apps were removed. luckily for me all my data still available once I installed everything again. All my saved games, my pics, video saved in some apps are still available. This is different if u removed the apps from iphone and the reinstall. The data will be missing.
