Greenpois0n RC5 is NOT the problem! Please read!
So, Cydia runs like crap and modmyi hosted apps are not installing or are installing very slow. Redsnowing and then Greenpois0ning over your Redsnow is not going to help. The problem is with Cydia and/or Modmyi. I updated to 4.2.1 and jailbroke my iPhone 4 and iPad with greenpois0n and have been having a horrible time reinstalling everything hosted on modmyi. At first I thought pkgbackup was glitching out. Then I realized modmyi repo was causing the problem on 4.2.1. And then I thought Cydia was having issues with 4.2 because its taking forever to load and is throwing a posix operation time out error while loading.
4.2 and greenpois0n are fine. I have not updated my wifes iPhone 3GS yet. She's still on 4.1 and everything has been working fine for months. So I decided to try cydia out on her phone and am gettin the same exact issues, like SAME. I also haven't updated her mywi to the newest version, but since I know there is a newer version with brand new ui from upgrading it on my phone last week, I decided to go and update hers. To my surprise, not only will it not reinstall the current version, but it's not even showing as having a new update available.
So the issue is definitely with cydia and/or modmyi. Figured I'd make this thread to save people some headaches. I've wasted hours on this crap today! So guys, no need to go downgrading back to 4.1...yet.
Also, the desktop version of this website has been crashing all day on my computer. The mobile version is working fine from my iPhone, which I'm on now.Last edited by DJ Hellfire; 02-06-2011 at 07:57 PM.

Yes, the mmi and bigboss repos are getting hit hard right now. Give it time and they should be back to normal.

Yup! I was THIS close to downgrading back to 4.1. Glad I double checked on my wifes phone. Would have waste so much time. Lol.
EDIT:
Forgot to report back. Cydia and Modmyi repo has been working fine for the last few hours.
Started working shortly after the super bowl ended!

lol just think how many people were updating their phones then reinstalling their cydia apps all at the same time.
60% of the time, it works every time.

I have been running GP on top of a RS 4.2.1 jailbreak on 3GS for a few days now and the 1st thing noticed is I can not reinstall MyWi. The prompt says "404 not found". Any help would be appreciated. Thx

Ok I hope this works for all. I thought I tried everything until I went into account management in Cydia. I logged in and viewed my purchased apps. I clicked on MyWi and immediately noticed a difference. The MyWi under account mgmt was ver 4.53.x versus ver 4.12.x when you just search for the app. My end result was that I successfully installed MyWi. Is there an explanation as to why there is a version discrepancy in Cydia?
