iPhone 4.2.1 unthered jailbreak questions?
Hello everyone,
I've been trying to keep up with the latest releases of untethered jailbreak information for iOS 4.2.1, but am finding it a little hard to follow and was hoping for some more direct answers if anyone could provide them.
I just read today about the new greenp0ison jailbreak, but it sounded like it had some issues. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how well it seems to be working and whether or not I would be able to unlock it for an overseas trip I am making in a few weeks.
Also, I have been using redsn0w to do my jailbreaks and unlocks in the past and have been following it a little hoping for an untethered jailbreak to be released, but all I have seen requires the blobs from cydia which I don't have and it seemed to be recommended that I don't download them online. Is there any new info on redsn0w releases that wouldn't require these blobs?
Thanks in advance,
~Thorlax

HI, Redsn0w 0.9.7B6 can give you an unteathered jailbreak but it riquires you to have 4.2B3 (That means beta 3) SHSH Blobs and that firmware. It is possible to get that firmware but I would not reccomend it unless you are a devolper. (Its pirating) You would have to have the blobs saved anyways. Greenpois0n has some issues. I couldn't get it to work the night it came out but I tried it again yesterday and it worked on the first time. I think they updated it. If you are already jailbroken (teathered only!) with Redsn0w just run Greenpois0n over it and you will be unteathered. So basically just try Greenpois0n, it should work. Let me know how it goes.

GreenPoison Jailbreak requires a clean restore of your iphone.

No it doesnt, you can run it over a teathered Redsn0w jailbreak.

Thanks guys. I will try Greenpoison when I get home tonight. I'm assuming there is no reason why it wouldn't work on any phone supporting 4.2.1 including iphone 4 correct?
