Thread: Iphone 4 4.0.2 No SHSH blob jailbreak question.

Default Iphone 4 4.0.2 No SHSH blob jailbreak question.
I have searched and searched. I believe I am stuck (other than the new greenpois0n jailbreak) that I can't jailbreak until the newest jailbreak comes out. I have an iphone 4 that I want to use with my at&t blue account. I want to jailbreak 4.2, 4.1 or 4.0.2, it doesn't really matter, preserving my baseband. I guess the problem is Apple is only signing the newest software not allowing me to restore a custom 4.2 FW. I am one version above the safari pdf exploit. Is this correct or does anyone know of another method.

    Thanks

    P.S. It is an iphone 4 4.0.2 BB-1.59.0

Alright so I will have to stay at 4.0.2 to preserve the baseband and jailbreak with limera1n.

That is your safest bet. If you have 4.1 SHSH you can go to that and preserve your baseband no problem. Or if you have a Mac you can go the greenpoison route and go to 4.2.1 but that is more risky.

Yeah I just picked this up no shsh blobs saved. So I will wait to see how greenpois0n plays out before upgrading. The only thing is greenpois0n would require a baseband upgrade. I don't think their is baseband preservation for 4.2.1 yet. (other than the ipad BB which I don't think is a good idea)

    Thanks for the quick responses.

You can do this to preserve your baseband for iPhone 4: https://twitter.com/#!/notcom/status/33338499377659904

It is a little risky though and obviously you need a Mac.

Also the iPad baseband thing is just for 3G/3GS, that doesnt work for iPhone 4.

Yeah that sounds risky...yeah sorry about the ipad baseband I am currently using a 3GS. I forgot they are different basebands. Once again thanks for putting me straight.

No prob. hopefully pwnage tool will be updated with the same method used by greenpoison to untether 4.2.1. That is the safest route for preserving baseband.
