No don't need unlock it's factory unlocked. I did want to update but is be stuck with tethered jailbreak then wouldn't I. I'm on old bootrom.

You should have told me the very first thing you have factory unlock, then i wouldn't spend so much time trying to get all other blobs.
Just restore to 4.2.1 through itunes and jailbreak it with Redsn0w 0.9.6RC8 to get untethered jailbreak.
Now i have missed my breakfast ..lol

Make sure u run redn0w in xp2 compatibility mode.

You just said you have a factory unlock, why would you want to use ipad bb, it screw up your factory unlock, stay away from ipad bb.

After restoring to stock 4.2.1, run redsn0w 0.9.6 rc8 and only check mark cydia and nothing else, understand.
You sure you have a factory unlocked. I am not responsible if you get locked out.

Yes my provider unlocked it fore during the week. Ok that's fine. Just what I was reading everywhere was that there was no unthethered jailbreak for 4.2 for the old bottom without changing it to the other one.

Trust me, since you have the old bootrom, your jailbreak at 4.2.1 is untethered. You have the best of both world .
