Can I upgrade to 4.1 and NOT 4.2.1 ? my phone is runnig 3.1.3

I run 3.1.3 on my iphone 3gs

I want to upgrade to 4.1 so I can get untethered JB and I dont want to upgrade to the recent one which is 4.2.1 ?

however. no SHSH for 4.1

is it possible ?

If you haven't figured it out already, the bootrom version can mean something. If you've got the old boot it isn't going to be tethered on 4.2.1. If it's new then it will be.
