Hi I changed my Ipod Touch 4th Gen passcode last night but i cant remember the code. My iOS is 4.1 and I am jailbroken with limera1n.
The following things i have tried to get rid of the passcode:
Used iPhoneBrowser to delete "Keychain-2.db
Used iPhoneBrowser to delete "com.apple.springboard.plist(s)"
Trying to remember my code.
The code that i am using is a Alpha-numeric code. Not a standard 4 digit code but a passcode with the alphabet.
So I am wondering if i can restore my ipod with 4.1 software which i have on my computer and re-jailbreak and sync everything back onto my ipod or will my ipod automatically update to 4.2.1?
Did you save your shsh blobs? Download tinyumbrella to your computer and make sure you have them saved (that app is pretty easy to use). If so, then yes you can. If you don't have 4.1 shsh, then you can't.
A restore should remove the passcode but you can not restore from back up. That will bring the passcode right back.
You need SHSHs to restore to anything below 4.2.1. Check for SHSHs with TinyUmbrella. If you don't have SHSHs for 4.1 or below, you cannot restore without being bumped up to 4.2.1
No i dont have shsh blobs saved for 4.1... if i restore using the 4.1 file on my computer can i use tiny umbrella to kick my ipod out of restore mode or would that not work?
i also read that the file "keychain-2.db" only stroes numeric pass codes. Does apple store alpha-numeric codes somewhere else on the device?

Reason: adding more
You can't restore to 4.1 without SHSHs. You can only restore to 4.2.1. I don't know much about passcodes, all I know is most people fix it with restoring.
well would it be possible to restore my ipod and keep all my apps and game saves for the games and get rid of the passcode or am i screwed in terms of game saves?
