f0recast help Please.

I am trying to jail brake/unlock/activate my Iphone 2g,
I do not know the firm ware that the Phone operates so
I'm trying to use f0rcast to figure it out. In the process
of attempting to run that program I was presented with
an error statement that reads.

" Application has generated
an exception that could not be handled.

Process id=0xa6c (2668), Thread id=0x8ac (2220).

Click OK to terminate the application.
Click CANCEl to debug the application. "

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You don't need to use f0recast.

Just go to settings/about and that's where the info you need is. Just google "jailbreak x.x.x and unlock xx.xxx" and you should find a guide pretty quickly.

Hit upgrade in iTunes. Then run redsn0w 0.9.4 (you'll need a 3.1.2 ipsw for redsn0w) and browse to 3.1.2 firmware. Then select Cydia and Unlock. Then follow the on-screen prompts. Then it should be jb/hacktivated/unlocked

When you say hit upgrade where exactly do I find this ?

Edit: if you're referring to iTunes not giving you the option, set the phone into DFU or recovery mode first.

I think this will be the final question, how do I sperate the boot loader I downloaded it. I assume you put 3.9 boot in 3.9 box and same for 4.6 right ?

You should have two separate files already. Try downloading from iclarified's site, it should have both files separate for you.

I download a theme from Cydia and after I try to select it in winterboard and respring or home key it and nothing changes at all. Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
