    Default Location Service FAIL

So I downgraded my iphone 3g to 3.1.3 from 4.2.1, jailbroke with redsn0w and now my location service isn't working. I have searched but not found anything really pertaining to my situation.

    Any know fixes

What is your baseband version (Settings->General->About->Modem Firmware)?

If it's 06.15.00 and you're on a 3G or 3GS, this is a known glitch with no current solution. Apologies if this is the case.

In that case, I'd attempt a restore and see if that fixes things (generic I know, but it's all I got).

Does that mean restore factory 3.1.3 and re-jailbreak, then reinstall everything?

Either 4.2.1 or 3.1.3, it's your choice. I'd start either restore from DFU mode first... Restoring to 3.1.3 will end with a 1015 error, at which point, use TinyUmbrella to exit Recovery Mode (and boot your phone).

The GPS not working is most likely just a small firmware glitch, but it's one of those elusive hard-to-specifically-diagnose things.

Be forewarned however, it may also be a baseband firmware issue (baseband firmware cannot decrease in version number; only stay the same or increase, and as noted, the only higher version, 06.15.00, is widely reported to also suffer fromn this glitch) or the malfunction is hardware-related, and therefore you're screwed.
