Phone just broke

So my sleep button magically just broke. Frustrating as hell. I have shsh's saved from 4.0 - 4.2b3.

But if I go to apple store to get a new phone am I able to use those saved blobs to downgrade and jailbreak?

Every firmware shsh is idevice specific. The answer is No

I thought so. Was just hoping I was wrong and a saved shsh could be adapted to a new device.

Though if that is the case why do some people say things like "the more shsh's save the better for the community"

We can only help you to restore/ downgrade only if you have shsh blobs, the more shsh you have for the iPhone, the more firmware version option u can restore. Without it we cannot help you to downgrade but only to the current version
