3GS (Old BR, Tmobile) 4.0 -> 4.2.1
Hey everyone, I've been out of the jailbreaking loop for a while. I have a 3GS on the old bootrom and unlocked (I use Tmobile) on iOS 4.0, I want to upgrade to 4.2.1 and unlock or preserve baseband if possible. I tried jailbreaking 4.2.1 on a 3G last month and redsn0w kept crashing so it was a total fail. Are there currently any solutions for my needs yet?

you need a pwnage tool made custom firmware with no baseband update in it. You will still need redsnow after restoring to that custom firmware though to install cydia.

I can give you a link to a custom firmware, but like I said you still need to use redsnow 0.9.6rc8 before and after the restore.
