Battery Drain even after SAM
Ok, I have been unlocked and jailbroken with my iphone 3gs (oldbootrom) for a month or so. I am on the custom ipad baseband using 4.1.
The battery drain on my phone is terrible. Within two hours of being at 100%, my phone is down to 50% battery life. I tried installing SAM through cydia and it didnt help at all.
Anyone have any help for me? Do I need to restore my phone and then install SAM or not? Anything will help. Thanks.

If SAM isnt working I would suggest getting a official carrier sim to activate with instead. Your backup can also cause battery issues.

No you shouldn't have done that. If you activate with a official sim SAM will not help you.

This might be total nonsense and I'll assume your not as stupid as me but i'll tell you my recent battery experience... when I updated, the key lock was removed (i wasn't aware of this nor did i even notice it) and I could not figure why it was draining so fast, was litterly lasting 3-4 hours... Anyhoo, popped the keylock back on and low and behold, batter is as good as gold...
As i said, i'll assume you've got a bit more know how and common sense than myself but ya never know, it might help... :0)

Hm, this might sound noobish for myself, but what is this keylock you're referring to?

you know the auto screen lock, when it puts the device in sleep mode... in the settings menu...

So you're saying your autolock for the lockscreen was disabled or set to never lock, therefore the battery drain was excessive? Well that's probably because it never locked on its own and it was on all the time?
I have it set on never lock but I also lock the screen manually when it's not in use. Not sure where I see the battery drain coming from there :/
Could be different for everyone.

Hi, I have an iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) running on ios 4.0, jailbroken using jailbreakme. I've been having similar issues with the battery. Can anyone please tell me if SAM will be able to fix the problem?

SAM will not fix your problem. If you used jailbreakme, you obviously accessed the phone by activating with an official SIM. SAM will not do anything for that. If you're experiencing battery issues, you might consider a restore and rejb. If that doesn't help, you might consider replacing the battery.

Honestly i.annie, I had called apple, demanded a replacement etc etc, but since turning the auto lock back on, back to charging once a day. oh and I never manually lock...
More than likely not the problem with the dudes phone but sometimes it can be quite simple (as I found) so just thought it wouldn't hurt me throwing my newbe's pennies worth into the ring so to speak.

Went ahead and deleted it. Battery drain might also be from FoneHome app since it enables gps on at all times.
