Restoring using SHSH Blobs

Hello All,

New here as you can probably see so Im guuner jump right in a take the mic by asking for help... (Yep, go ahead, have ago me, i deserve it!)

Anyway, I have a iphone4, 4.2.1. When I first jailbroke my device on 4.1 with linera1n, Cydia asked if I wanted them to save my SHSH blobs, I said yes and it done its thing etc... Anyhow, I had to update to 4.2.1 for x y z reason so my question is, is there anyway I can restore back to 4.1? If so, if anyone could kindly point me in the right direction or could walk me through it (even if its possible that is) I'd be ever so grateful!

Without SHSH there is now way sorry.

Thanks x98car, so i can't retreve the SHSH from cydia? (4.1 SHSH saved with cydia)

If you have them saved on cydia you can get them with tiny umbrella and use that to help you downgrade.

thanks very much! found my 4.1 SHSH so thats good news...

One more question if I may, when opening itunes to restore device, what OS do I need? My saved 4.1 SHSH in tiny umbrella is 4.1 (8B117) but my device is currently on 4.2.1 (8C148) so a little confused what OS to use. Tried an old 4.1 (8B117) i found on my PC but got an itunes message "could not restore as firmware not compatable" any help?

Make sure you are running tinyumbrella when you try to restore first. Then, you shift-select or command-select or whatever the key combo is for you to select your particular firmware. You are aiming for 4.1, so you should select that one. If your old one isn't working, go to felixbruns (google it) and download a new one. Or you could run redsn0w and get your firmware broken already so that you save time, but that it is probably not the greatest idea if you want to downgrade. Anyway, have fun!

little update, for you, IM BACK UP AND RUNNING on 4.1 and am jailbroken!
