Jailbreaking Questions
My iPhone 3G 4.0.2 is jailbroke and unlocked. I was wondering if I downgrade to a previous ios would it make my iPhone faster because mine is really slow. Also I was wondering if I restored it, in order to jailbreak it again would I need to have the original AT&T SIM card?

If you go to 3.1.3 it will be faster. You can use redsnow 0.9.4 to jailbreak and activate on 3.1.3 (browse to a 3.1.2 firmware using redsnow for it to work on 3.1.3)

I have a 3.1.3 firmware downloaded already. And I have redsn0w but it doesn't recognize the firmware I have downloaded. How do I fix that?

How? If you didn't read if I have to restore and reactivate my phone I can't because I don't have the original sim card.

When you run redsn0w 0.9.4, you browse to stock 3.1.2, not 3.1.3 , the is the reason why redsn0w cannot recognize your ipsw, pointing to the wrong version.
You don't need a valid sim to activate, redsn0w will do it for you.

I don't get it. I download the 3.1.2 version instead of 3.1.3?

Download 3.1.3
Shift restore to 3.1.3 in itunes
If you get error 1015 exit recovery with tiny umbrella
run redsnow 0.9.4
browse for 3.1.2 firmware
install cydia

So you browse to 3.1.2 fw when running redsn0w, does it look like this :
iphone1,2_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw for 3g

Basically you're on 3.1.3 but redsn0w only recognizes 3.1.2 so you'd use 3.1.2 to get redsn0w to work, but you can be on. 3.1.3.

You didn't jailbreak it if you don't have Cydia.
