jailbreaking ipod touch 3g (8gb)

ive tried jailbreaking my ipod touch 3g (8gb)
i tried to do it with redn0w and downloaded ipod touch 3g files.
but it didnt work.. so should i next time download the 2g files or what cause ive heard 3g (8gb) is exactly the same as 2g???

yes i checked on youtube the difference i have the 3rd gen (8gb) but mine counts as 2g i have A1288

2nd Generation models are A1288

3rd Generation models are A1318

Then try the 2g it wont hurt anything

If you have a 8gb then you have a 2G, probably a MC model which are very hard to jailbreak. Check your model number in settings.
