3G jailbreak no unlock

My current phone is 3G @ 4.1 fw and bb 05.12.01 an is JB already but now I want to go to 4.2.1 unteathered is it possible? I have been able to do shift restore method in the past. What is the easiest way to go to 4.2.1 JB???

Create a custom firmware with PwnageTool. Then restore to the custom firmware to preserve the baseband and maintain unlock.

If you don't have a Mac to use PwnageTool, find the custom fw online (make sure it does not include the baseband upgrade). Or find x98car, he might be able to send one to you.

If you don't need to unlock, just upgrade to 4.2.1 stock through iTunes and jb with Redsn0w 0.9.6b6

Well if you don't need to unlock it's easiest to just hit upgrade in iTunes and jb with redsn0w

I searched for redsnow and have found so many of them which one is the latest version or the version I need?
