Unfortunately I had an error where I had to remove a few of the apps to make the phone work (safe mode problem) now I would like to reinstall SBsettings and BT stack and buy some like Infinidock, Snes emulator etc. But everytime I select them they say "can not locate package"
The free ones (Sbsettings and BT stack) I have found deb files for and I have tried using "dpkg -i XXX.deb" to install but then I get dependency errors.
I have tried to restore/downgrade from 4.1 to 4.0.1 to hopefully fix some of this but I haven't been able to do that either. I keep getting 1602 error.
I am at the end of my rope here, I am considering a 4.2 upgrade then leaving it alone! whats the point of jailbreaking if I can't use Display out to play some SNES with a wiimote for controller?
I would greatly appreciate ANY help, I have tried so much to fix this, I am generally good at stuff like this. is it my sources in Cydia?
If you have 4.1 shsh blob, you can see that from the page of Cydia, then restore to 4.1 firmware again or restore to a custom firmware of 4.1 from Snowbreeze 2.1 or Pwnage tools 4.1.2.
If you restore to stock 4.1, use Limera1n to jailbreak your IOS 4.1.
Hopefully, restoring and rejailbreaking will resolve your issue.
You can still jailbreak but it will be a tethered jailbreak for now. The untethered jailbreak will be released when Apple releases Verizon iphone on the 10th of February.

ok so just to clarify, I can only ever have firmware 4.2.1 restored onto my phone? Should I just let itunes upgrade (which will break my current jailbreak) me to that then jailbreak it?
Do you have a link for the tethered jailbreak procedure?
If it completely removed Cydia then reinstalled it would that help the problem or probably not?
