Default 3gs 4.2.1 (old boot) how to hactivate?

Hi guys, so i followed the tutorial to keep the basedband for my 3gs. After i restored the phone it needs to be hactivated anyone knows how?

    i followed this:
"Update #3: For those Mac users with an old-bootrom 3GS who really know what they’re doing, here’s a minimal 3GS 4.2.1 bundle that will get you to 4.2.1 without updating your baseband. Be sure to uncheck “Activate the iPhone” using Expert mode. To actually jailbreak after you’ve restored with the help of that bundle, please use redsn0w. "

i also get that i need to still install cidia and jailbreak it after this? When i pointed Redsn0w to the ipsw that phwnage tool created it says unrecognized ipsw. Any ideas what i am doing wrong?

You are supposed to use the stock firmware for redsn0w and custom firmware for iTunes.

You point to stock 4.2.1 fw when running redsn0w 0.9.6 RC8, it will hactivate for you , you can choose to install SAM from Cydia after that to reduce battery drain.
