    Default I want to jailbreak my phone.

    This is an uber noob question so please bear with me.

    What will happen if I jailbreak my iPhone 3g with an iPhone 4g only JB because there isn't a 4.2.1 untethered jailbreak for my 3G and I'm getting tired of waiting for this untethered jailbreak for my iPhone.

    Confused??
    The original 3G is already untethered on any fw. Its the new boot 3GS and the iPhone 4 that have tethered jailbreaks at the moment

    Really? Because I have the 4.2.1 JB and I still have to connect to my pc to boot it up... umm maybe I did something wrong?

    Unless its not an older 3G there should be no problems having an untethered JB on an older device. You shouldnt have to use an I4 jb. Redsn0w would recognize it if you are pointing it to the correct fw.

    Oh yes of course. I should have known that it wouldn't recognize because i do use redsnow.
