IP4 on 4.2.1

I recently upgraded to 4.2.1 while preserving 2.10.04 baseband. I now want to jailbreak. I realize that it will be tethered for now but I do not mind, although I do not know what utility I should use. Also, I would like to keep my baseband at 2.10.04 in case the new unlock does not cover the 3.10.04. Can anyone help me out?

Jailbreak it with Redsn0w 0.9.6RC8 to get a tethered jailbreak at 4.2.1

Redsnow will not update your baseband.
