Yeah this may or may not be in the right section, i've been googling for about like 3 hours straight and couldn't find ****, so yea heres my problem
So i have a 4th gen just updated earlier because i had to recover it,
ok so i'm trying to jailbreak it and i can't seem to get it into DFU mode (inb4 read a guide) yea i'm not retarded or something it just doesn't work, i'll hold the power button for 3 seconds as it says, then hold the home button for 10, then let go of the power button and hold the home for 10. Normally at the last step it makes a fast beeping noise (3 beaps) instead of the regular noise when you plug in a USB. So after that my screen just stays black, when i try to boot it back up i get the recovery mode screen, what's going on?
I've tried multiple things, i tried on a different pc, same issue, this is about the 5th time i've recovered it...
Yeah if i could get some help asap, I had it perfectly jailbroken and everything i was just trying to reboot it (cause it was tethered) and it ****** up..
i dont think the 4.2.1 makes a difference, i had a tethered 4.2.1 jailbreak on this earlier and its just messed up now and won't go into dfu
@x98
I've tried greenpois0n and redsnow, same thing happens. I don't really think its a problem with the software, its something with the ipod, i'm not really sure what to do
yea hence my original post when i said "i've restored it like 5 times", it doesn't make any difference, it'll be perfectly back to factory settings and it still doesn't work,.
Instead of the device being off when starting the process of going into dfu, do it from being on. Hold home and power for 10 seconds, let go of power and keep holding home for 10 seconds. You should "hopefully" have black screen and be in dfu.
You should use the latest redsnow 0.9.6rc8 too
