Default Broken Power Button / Incredably Stupid

Well, Im sure this is a great story to hit the site with lol I got my 3gs a few months back in april simply for the fact that i could Jb it, now after having some fun, dumbass ol me dropped it a few times and my power button just magically stopped working, NOW no big deal right, we can still power off with SB settings nb, But im still under warrenty so i decide its best of being apples problem not mine. So Smart me decides to make a dumbass(genius) Apt. and not being able to survive long with my jailbroken phone i only restored it as i was running out the door to my appt. So I get to the apple store, pretty stoked to get my new 3gs and head home but when i hand my phone to said genius, he noticed that this said dumbass never changed his custom carrier name back and busted me for jailbreaking, NO BIG DEAL, He was pretty cool about it, said if i made it disappear and came back tomorrow all would be good, NOW heres my big problem, I reinstalled with firmware 4.1(i was thinkin) rather than 4.2, but now i cant get into DFU mode to re jailbreak my phone cause of my broken power button, so now im stuck with a broken UNjailbroken iphone, Great.

You dont have to be in DFU to restore your phone.

Restoring it should not keep the custom name. Where its coming from is when you restore from backup. Setup as new phone then take it to Apple.

It will work. Its the restoring of backup settings that contains the springboard.plist that has the SBFakeCarrier key in it. If it doesnt work, let me know because there are other ways but they can be a challenge
