Error 3002 when trying to upgrade ipt2g to 4.0

Heyy ever1 I'm new so umm hii!! Anyways I have an iPod touch 2g running 3.1.2. I have been running on that firmware forever. Iv jailbroken it & everthing the whole 9 yards basicly. Now I'm tryin to update manully to 4.0 using iTunes. I don't want 4.2 cuz I don't know how to jailbreak it. So I'm jus tryin to update to 4.0 on iTunes but evertime I try to do it iTunes it comes up wit an error that says can't update blank iPod error 3002. Iv trid both holding down shift and restore & holding Down shift and upgrade nothing seems to work. Now I hav stumbled on this site and everbody on this site seems pretty smart soo can some1 plzz help mii??

You can't because they are signing it with SHSH blobs now. YOu can go to 4.2.1 and jailbreak with redsn0w 0.9.6b6. it's easy.

It runs a lot better on 4.2.1 and you can jailbreak it. Just do that.
