Firmware Downgrading -No Compatible Files-

Hey I jailbroke my itouch with no problems it was a 4th generation and I downgraded it using tiny umbrella to 4.1

I am now trying to jailbreak my brothers 3rd generation and it just isn't working. I am trying to downgrade it to 4.1 from 4.2.1 and it says the firmware file isnt compatible. I have downloaded the firmware from many different sites and they always give me the same message!

if he didnt save his SHSH for 4.1 he cannot EVER go back to 4.1

Well thats not the issue the issue is that the firmware isn't compatible for some reason.
