    Default Cydia crashes at start

Just bought a new iPhone 4 out right, so dont care about unlocking.

jailbroke it to 4.2.1 with redsnow. but the cydia icon was white. So I searched for a fix and found that I need to get thetering option in the redsnow jailbreak. So that fixed it cydia works.

But when I restart the iphone cydia crashes again and i need to redsnow-tether it again.... i could not find a solution yet.

The reason for this is because your jailbreak is tethered - meaning you have to connect your iPhone to the computer and run redsn0w to boot it into a jailbroken state. If you have downloaded anything from Cydia that hooks into the springboard, then you won't be able to boot the iPhone at all without running redsn0w. Unfortunately that's your only option at the moment, as the untethered jailbreak requires 4.2b3 SHSH blobs (which you don't have since you bought it new). Hope this answers your question.

they are apples "safe gaurds" against peopljailbreaking.... they made it to where you have to send a request to apple and they have to sign the request.... well if it isnt the newest software then they will not sign it and will not let you downgrade if you ever need or want too.... but someone figured this out and found a way to fake the signature that apple gives..... iTunes is then tricked and sent somewhere else for the signature and will be signed.....

i suck at explaining, but that is pretty much what is done.... btw, this happens when you try to upgrade though itunes or downgrade....

Yeah, cydia crashes has nothing to do with tether boot. Try running redsn0w and install cydia again.
