    Default Purchased iPhone 4

    Hello all,

I'm very new to this forum and to anything that is technically affiliated with iPhone OS. I have no idea what it means or any of it's terminology so please bare with me. I purchases my iPhone 4 a few weeks ago and it comes with the 4.2.1. I heard to jailbreak it I would have to downgrade it to the last version. Is this true or is there an easier way to jailbreak it without changing versions? I would GREATLY appreciate it if someone would walk me through it!

    Thanks in advance!

You wont be able to downgrade without having saved SHSH. You can jailbreak now on 4.2.1 but it will be a tethered jailbreak. You may want to wait for a untethered jailbreak to come out.

Not sure what a SHSH is but sounds too confusing and I'm not really the best candidate for confusing. Can you please tell me how I can tether jailbreak in the meantime?

Oh and what's the difference between jailbreak and tethered jailbreak?

    Thanks!!!
