Exclamation iPhone 3G - 4.1 - Keeps rebooting at random times

Wasn't sure if this was the right section to be posting but I have a problem with the OS in general. I haven't yet figured out what the exact cause of the problem is.

It's an iPhone 3G 4.1 with baseband 04.26.08. I think it was unlocked through ultrasn0w and jb-ed from jailbreakme.com. I dont fully remember how it got jb-ed or unlocked.

The phone is much slower from the previous firmware, 3.1.2. Sometimes the phone would reboot by itself. I don't know if it's because there are programs running at once OR if the programs are too much of a heavy load.

Is there something I can do to make this faster? Clean anything up? I don't think I can downgrade anymore.

    Thanks in advance.

Its probably rebooting because of lack of memory, 3G runs really slow on 4.0. You can downgrade to 3.1.3 if you want.

And yes this is in the wrong section, will move it for you.

    Ok thanks.

I haven't searched on my own yet for how to downgrade this. I was guessing I needed SHSH blobs and you cant downgrade since those firmwares arent signed anymore. Also, I dont have the SHSH blobs of this iPhone.

I will do more searching first.

No SHSH needed for 3.1.3 on a iPhone 3G. Just put it in dfu then shift restore to a 3.1.3 firmware that you need to download.

When you get error 1015 just use tiny umbrella to exit recovery

Is this 3.1.3 required to be a Custom Firmware?

I'm a bit new to using TinyUmbrella. Used it only once or twice. I don't have to Start TSS Server to be able to Exit Recovery, correct?

Because I'm still unsure of downgrading the firmware, is the only option to make this faster is through downgrading? Is there an app that can free up the memory being used?

    Thanks

No it can be regular firmware. Only need tiny umbrella for the exit recovery button. No app will help with the lag. 4.0 and up just run really slow on a 3G.

Ok thank you for the info.

I will try to downgrade later, after I've decided fully on downgrading.
