    Yeah I don't have the official sim as the phone was bought second hand.

    Would redsnow update the baseband though?

    I connected the phone to tinyumbrella and it's on 4.2.1 and still on baseband 01.59.00.

    At this stage I am still able to unlock this phone I don't want to loose that ability so I am very cautious of what I do..

    No redsnow will not update your baseband.

    I am up and running on 4.2.1 baseband 01.59.00.

    It's tethered at the moment however it will just have to do.
