Restoring to 3.1.2 is impossible?
I wanted to restore to 3.1.2, so that I could then JB with spirit and go untethered but didnt save my Blobs, so is it now impossible?
My iPod (MC Model) 2G I think, is using firmware 3.1.2. It is already jailbroken using blackra1n but its tethered so thats why I wanted to restore to 3.1.2 and then use Spirit to make it untethered.Last edited by RockNRoll99; 01-06-2011 at 12:16 AM.

If you have an ipod touch 2nd gen and above, you will need 3.1.2 shsh blob to downgrade. I can't say much since i don't have any detail of your device.

If you have any S5L8900 device (iPhone 2G/3G/first-generation iPod touch) you can restore to any 3.1.x or earlier firmware at will.
If you have a second-generation iPod touch, you cannot restore straight out--you'll HAVE to use a custom firmware with the 2.2 iBoot (ARM7_GO) exploit in it, which has the SHSH check removed... this ONLY applies to the MB model of iPod touch, as the MC model is only vulnerable to limera1n, and no tools exist (that I'm aware of) to make 3.1.x firmwares for the MC model.
Any other model (3GS, iPT3G, iPad, iPhone 4, iPT4G, ATV2G) cannot be dropped to previous firmware versions without the matching SHSH blobs at this time.
