    Default Upgrading from 4.0 & unlocking

    Ok members, I've been lucky enough to get my hands on an iPhone 4 which is still on 4.0 & has the 1.59.00 baseband. I want to jailbreak, unlock & upgrade as far as possible. I have plugged it in to Tiny Umbrella and I don't see any saved SHSH's. The phone has never been jailbroke.

    What is the best way to go about this or is upgrading even possible without the saved SH's? Thanks in advance.

    You have to stay at 4.0, jailbreak it with jailbreakme.com from safari on your iphone ( slide to jailbreak). You cannot go to 4.2.1 as you need the unlock.

    Is there any way to upgrade at all...4.02, 4.1?

    No, you don't have any shsh blob. One more thing, the next time you restore, it will be 4.2.1 , now more 4.0 firmware restore. I know , it sucks but that is the way Apple wants.

    Right, I saved the shsh's for future use. Hopefully by the time it needs a restore upgrading to 4.2 won't be a problem. Thanks so much for the advice.

    Hopefully there will be 4.2.1 untethered jailbreak coming out soon, so when that comes out, you can go to 4.2.1 and use that. Keep checking the news section for more info
