Iphone Stuck on itunes logo

ok so my friends phone wouldnt turn on, it would only show the apple logo and turn off. so i restored it.

the restore stopped in the middle and it said error 1015

so i figured he had it baseband updated to the ipads..

is there a solution to this, i've tried ireb and it didnt work

the iphone is a 3g and stuck with the new itunes logo not the old.

please help!!!!!!!!

Ypu can put your iphone into recovery mode and restore to 3.1.3 firmware and use Exit recovery to kick out error 1015 or if you still want 4.2.1, then you have to restore to custom firmware of 4.2.1
