Bricked FOR REAL!!!
I've been part of this community for a long time now and I've seen all the BRICKED stories that have been solved over and over again.
But what I have run into I have never seen before.
-iPhone 3GS new bootrom errored out 1501 at restoring to factory 4.2.1
-Stuck at Connect to iTunes no matter what I try (DFU restore, restore to custome firmware, latest redsn0w)
-I'm trying to fix this for a friend so I have no idea if it has SHSH on file
Here is a screen shot from a failed redsn0w attempt!!!!
What do you all think???!!!

Someone has updated this 3gs to ipad baseband , that is the reason why restoring to stock 4.2.1 gives you error 1015. What you need is 3gs custom firmware of 4.2.1. Use redsn0w 0.9.6b6 and browse to stock 4.2.1, check only DFU mode. Once dfu is done , run itunes and shift + restore to this file ( in your PM box) . When you received it, do not unzip, just rename .zip to .ipsw.
After restoring, you will need to run redsn0w to install cydia again.

If you cannot restore to stock 4.2.1, and it throws out error 1015, it means that the firmware of 4.2.1 doesn't match the baseband of 05.15.xx, must be ipad baseband of 6.15 is being installed.

you can restore to and official 4.1 if you have your 4.1 SHSH backed up, and then use tiny umbrella when it shows the 1015 error to boot it it up!
