    Default 0.9.6b4 to 0.9.6b6

    Hey,

I want to update my tethered iPhone 4 currently on redsn0w 0.9.6b4 to 0.9.6b6.

Do I have to restore my iPhone back to official 4.2.1 fw or is there a way I can just update the redsn0w JB?

    Thanks for the help!

    James

I honestly don't know. Just backup your Cydia packages and test it out. Remember, the best thing to do to solve a problem is experiment. If all else fails, restore.

But I don't want to install Cydia over an existing JB?

Is there anyone else with this experience before them?

That wouldn't have any effect. Redsn0w creates a custom firmware file (the jailbroken one) and replaces the old one (in your case, the old one is also jailbroken) so your old JB data (including Cydia) would be removed in the process.

EDIT: Redsn0w 0.9.6rc7 is out. Use that instead of 0.9.6b6.
